Drum gear couplings by duty, three types:
- Heavy / high-torque: 630–25000 N·m, mining/mill/crane, shock-resistant, long life.
- High-speed: 1300–4000 rpm by size; balancing and lubrication critical.
- Large-size: bore 16–320 mm for big shafts.
Selection focus: peak torque × safety (1.5–2), speed, misalignment (allowed angle usually ≤1.5°), temperature. Build to print per layout and shaft end.
Tip: rated torque alone is not enough — verify contact safety factor S_H > 1 (see the contact-strength article).
