Five installation steps (practical points, not the only standard):
- Clean: unpack, clean internal/external teeth, remove preservative; inspect for damage.
- Align: center the two shafts per equipment spec; keep radial/angular offset within limits (allowed angle usually ≤1.5°).
- Lubricate: fill recommended grease/oil; cover the mesh fully.
- Tighten: bolts in cross pattern, in stages to spec torque; never one pass.
- Run-in: jog no-load → low speed → rated; listen for noise, watch temperature.
Tip: build-to-print parts assemble per drawing; excessive misalignment is the top cause of early failure — control alignment.
